When should you convert WEBP to HEIC?
WebP to HEIC is mainly useful when an image needs to enter a HEIC-centric photo workflow. For websites and web delivery, WebP is usually the more natural format, so keep the original WebP unless the destination specifically benefits from HEIC.
HEIC encoding creates a new file; it does not turn an ordinary image back into the original iPhone camera capture. Camera metadata, depth information, and the Live Photo video component are not recreated. Keep the source file when those details matter.

Will this create a Live Photo?
No. The result is a single HEIC still image and does not create the video portion of a Live Photo.
Does it work in every browser?
HEIC encoding depends on WebAssembly, Web Workers, and browser isolation features. Modern desktop browsers are the best-supported environment, but device and browser differences can still affect availability.
