When should you convert PNG to HEIC?
PNG to HEIC is most useful for photographic PNG files when you want a smaller modern photo copy. PNG remains a better choice for graphics that require predictable lossless pixels, browser-native editing, or workflows where transparency compatibility is critical.
HEIC encoding creates a new file; it does not turn an ordinary image back into the original iPhone camera capture. Camera metadata, depth information, and the Live Photo video component are not recreated. Keep the source file when those details matter.

Not guaranteed. This tool creates a new HEIC file, so keep the source file when metadata matters.
Will this create a Live Photo?
No. The result is a single HEIC still image and does not create the video portion of a Live Photo.

HEIC encoding depends on WebAssembly, Web Workers, and browser isolation features. Modern desktop browsers are the best-supported environment, but device and browser differences can still affect availability.
