When should you convert HEIC to JPG?
JPG is usually the practical choice when compatibility matters. Older Windows apps, web forms, messaging tools, and content management systems commonly accept JPG even when they do not recognize HEIC. If the goal is sharing or uploading a photo, JPG is often the simplest destination format.
JPG conversion re-encodes the image, so it is a lossy output. FileOnTap uses a high-quality setting, but the final file size still depends on the image. If you want a lossless decoded image for further editing, consider HEIC to PNG instead.
